How long will it take to receive my plants?

We aim to deliver your order as quickly as possible.

During our peak period- early April and again in early September just after the catalogue has been mailed, delivery may take up to three weeks due to the large number of orders that arrive at one time. Generally orders are delivered in a week.

Parva uses mainly Courier Post, who will deliver to your door or if you reside in a rural area, they will connect with your rural mail contractor so that you parcel is delivered to the door.

Expect deliveries Tuesday to Friday.

North Island and Rural orders are sent early in the week so that they have more time to arrive before the end of the working week.

Do you have a wholesale list for Councils and Landscapers?

We supply many Landscapers and Council gardeners throughout New Zealand. Our only plant list is our retail listing which is distrubuted twice a year.

I live outside N.Z., will you send plants to me overseas?

Due to the high costs of exporting and the time involved in cleaning and preparing an export order, we do not generally send plants overseas sorry.

How is my order delivered?

The plants are packaged in our Parva Designed Packaging System to resist damage in transit. Each plant is packed in a cardboard module, which supports and holds all the plants in an upright position. The modules are then packed and stapled into our own boxes, which have partially open tops to allow ventilation and air movement. Very large boxes are packed without modules. Parcels are delivered to your door mainly by Corier Post if you live in town. For those of you living in rural areas, Courier Post will link up with your local Rural Delivery Contractor, who will deliver to you.

Do you list all the plants you have, on this web site?

Yes, our entire catalogue is listed online. Occasionally more plants and specials are added to the on-line shopping chart during the season. The same extensive range of plants is also listed in our printed catalogue. For a copy of the latest catalogue click catalogue.

How big are the plants that you will send in my order?

Most of our plants are grown in our own nursery and supplied in premium 9cm pots, each with a descriptive label. Some specific plants are bigger in 12.5cm pots. Each plant is supplied with a durale, descriptive planting label.

The size of the plants vary according to variety, but we aim to send out hardy plants ready to grow well and flourish in the coming season. In some cases in the winter months dormant plants are despatched and there is nothing to be seen above the soil line of the pot. You may prefer to hold the bulb in the pot until you can see signs of growth, before planting.

I am going away from home for a while, can you delay sending my plants?

When you are making your order, let the office staff know the date that you would like your order to be held till, or alternatively the dates you will be away so we can ensure your parcel does not arrive while you are away from home.

If you realise that you will be away after you have sent your order, please contact us about your change of plans and we will make arrangements to suit.

What happens if the plant I order is out of stock?

If you mark the substitution box on your order form we will substitute with a plant of the closest variety and value as possible. Sometimes we are unable to find a suitable substitute. If you prefer, you can list your own substitute plants when you are ordering by mail, fax or email or we can double up on some of the plants already in your order.

Should you choose not to have substitute plants sent, we will either credit the amount to your account or if the amount is greater than $20.00, refund your money. Amounts less than $20.00 will be held in credit unless otherwise requested.

If plants are out of stock, can I put them on backorder?

Sorry, due to the living nature of our products and freight costs, we are unable to offer back- orders. There are many reasons we can not fulfil back-orders. It may be some time before we propagate that particular variety again or are able to have enough propagation material to do so, and with seed raised material it can be longer.

I saw a plant in a previous catalogue that I wanted but can’t find it in the current catalogue. Am I still able to purchase this?

Contact us on the contact page. Sometimes we still have small numbers of plants from an earlier catalogue available, but not in large enough numbers to list again.
